My first Verdict

My finferI have started my blog just now. And I am now proud that I have become a part of democracy by casting my vote in the great Chemundi ammana elections. Last time I missed the my right because my name was not indexed in the renewed voter’s list.

And this was my first attempt in giving my verdict. I went to the polling booth at 12 in noon. People were very happy in the booth. There were around 10 police and paramilitary staff. I got a very warm welcome from the police constable who saw my number and showed me in which queue to stand. And then I went inside the room and showed my identity card and they put the indelible ink on my finger.

Ever since I saw Lallu ji on tv showing the public how to vote using the EVM, I had a curiosity of seeing that machine.  I still remember what he said “iss button ko aise dabaavo.. who keeeeekk kahega. Darna math! Yeh machine current shock nahi dega”. And I pressed the blue button. And it gave out a looong beep.

And as i came home, i tried to wipe off the indelible ink. I succeeded to some extent. But the ink won the match at last. I could rub off the nail part of the ink, but not the skin part.

I was very much pleased by the way the election process which went on so well and instilled high hopes in me about the democratic set up. My big thanks to Mr. Raymond Peter who worked day and night to make all this possible.

Now i have also “entered” the system and i have my right to say. I hope i can “shift” some problems of our country through my single vote!

Inspiration for this blog

Hello Friends. This is my first post in wordpress blogs. First I would like to quote the names of all those people who inspired me to blog.

I used to read about blogging in newspapers. And during the block by Govt. of India. So I was quite curious about blogging. A couple of months ago, my friend showed me the very famous churumuri blog. And through the churumuri, I found some nlogs like Apun Ka Desh and Silk Board. In Apun Ka Desh’s blog, he wrote “we as citizens have to raise our voices and speak out”. This inspired me a lot. More over, having a blog these days is something like an identity. I do many things and i feel like writing on all those things. And this blog wil act as a platform for me to express myself.

Now I am into blogging. I have been seeing the very good Bangalore Photo blog. And I think there are no such photo blogs for mysore. I wish to update photos also in this blog.

Welcome to Daasappa’s blog
